Strangely Silent Politicians
The 31st of January 1919 anniversary has once again passed by , without an utter from the Socialists in Scotland behind it , or created from it , onward to the power it once was , well thats Scottish Labour for you.
Eventually just like the wiki page for the Battle of George Square , Scotttish Labour will be consigned to a footnote in History - as the party that robbed Scotland , not once but twice , and failed to deliver anything other than the Scottish "Assembly" - that it then deliberately nobbled against popular and normal first past the post democracy.
Scottish Labour has become not that of what its former leader Lamont called " the northern branch office" , it has became something more darker - it has became bedfellows of those that DESTROYED Scotland , the Tories.
Its leaders are so involved in protecting their own jobs , just like those workers today it once aligned with , was empowered by , that it is now willing to throw its lesser party mortals under the political bus in order to do so... removing the last true Socialists within them.
In the 2016 General election they were rejected , in the 2015 Holyrood election not only were they rejected by those seeking Independence - but their unionist voter too and chose Tory instead - due to noticing the power of the pseudo socialists ebbing away. It is now a party without unionist voters , or those seeking independence - So who exactly is left voting for them? I can offer only one core demographic - Labour politicians themselves.
Those that know me personally know I am a hard core socialist - red clydeside , just like that of Jimmy Reid .
He was a man whom eventually realised that Nulabour meant England , and Scottish Labour has no place in Scotland as long as it chooses to represent a party office , or indeed promoting remaining in a biased and unfair union , representing those that didn't elect them over those that did , ie the UK , is somehow better than home rule for those that have elected them in Scotland instead.... Jimmy Reid at least seen the writing on the wall.
That home rule mandate offered in the early days of the Labour party is an embarrassment to the Labour party today - yet it still tries to out Keir Hardie to offer a reminder that it is still socialist , or at least to fund the upcoming council elections on a tea towel! Where it now egregiously offers that Hardie meant India or EIRE - rewriting history , if not redacting it - unsurprising given that this is the same party that aided the theft of Scottish oil , twice.
This sort of tactic is not unusual for Scottish Labour , the very first First Scottish First Minister is now also being like Hardie redacted from its history. Forgetting , if not straight faced denying that Dewar knew , wanted , the eventual destination for a devolved legislature in Scotland to be Independence - and that meant eventually through taking back the economic levers of control from Westminster.
All that remains for the likes of Kezia Dugdale , as the leader of the Scottish Labour party is a job in the media , perhaps Ruthies old BBC one - but I hear theres an opening selling the big issue in George Sq , well until the Ruth the Tank Commander gets her parking space.
