I Daniel Blake, a review from Scotland.

Dear @KenLoachSixteen .

IDB is a modern masterclass in cinematography/script writing, where the usual style of the director is to make you feel you’re there, even if it means uncomfortable to witness.

Its not unusual of Ken Loach leaning heavily into socialism, where there is no real voice in the UK if not worldwide in story telling in the middle class dominated and subsidised arts. Because who wants to watch depressing lives, a hateful state, uncivil fucking servants, with a fucking merry go round two party system supplying it, when theres fucking super heroes, wizards, and space fucking cowboys to distract them from it in their OWN daily fucking lives, working or not.

Anyone that doesnt rate Ken as one of our best, if flawed living directors is a cunt.

But thats not to say there isnt valid criticism at times of the end product, if not at least the story itself somewhat toned down, age has indeed mellowed the man, or simply he's realised the system itself has meant its better to get most of the message out, rather than fuck all.

Any working class Englishman/woman that cant see IDB for what it is, a fucking warning but for luck there go I, should bow their head in shame. Because as a Scotsman I have seen it in Scotland, today, yesterday, as well as in the English north – where Ken filmed what I hope is not his own last writing on the wall. But as for Scotland, we have options, deliberately prevented.

Cracking film.

And here is where you can stop reading if you wear political blinkers, because there's some home truths coming, the review ended above, but not about the real life content – now its spleen vent time.

Ken is a Labour man, at least on paper, I STILL believe though he is more of a socialist in principle than that modern Labour Badge can offer as a description. Unless people think that there's only one kind of socialism? Now would you want fries with that hard to shake leftism?

Ken was/is a socialist that believed NuLabour was old Labour, like many of us did, and perhaps believes that Corbyn is a replacement to the old NU, but its sad to say, like I mentioned earlier about Ken’s work being “getting some of the message out rather than fuck all” the same applies to Corbyn. And for England fuck aye vote for him, thats all you have, a marxist Labour man with principles in principle dropped easy enough, in a party still half full or more of NU, including millionaires that have became millionaires on the back of it. Poverty pays the fucking bills for the middle class Labour some, for the money not the few.

Ken skirts around the matter of Scottish independence when questioned on Socialism, like most Labour and left do, well after all theres a couple of million votes they say England needs to get rid of Toryism for a term, and that socialist black stuff to be considered should it work to pay for it afterwards.

But I have news, the Scottish Left woke up, long before the English left did about Labour, and frankly their love bombing of Scotland, from inside and out, will never produce the kind of voting numbers ever again to put Corbyn in no10, never mind any Labour leader, on the back of it.

I hope Ken decides to do a historical biopic of the beginnings of Labour, to date I have yet to see one, or hear of one. Perhaps thats on purpose though, cos frankly that Stan Laurels mate when he started the party from his Tea Towel stall would be embarrassing to modern Labour – and it fucking should be. Only then can you see Connolly, Hardie, and Robert Bontine Cunningham Graham being part of its creation, and how the SNP are more of the old Labour , than current Labour are today.

While IDB is fiction its also fact, every fucking day, some other facts from Labour don't exactly turn out well for them.

Like 184 Labour MP’s enabling directly and indirectly the cruel DWP regime we see today, simply saying “yes but that was old Labour” is excusism , something Labour is now getting too fond of as much as with ambiguity, it needs to admit its fingerprints all over sanctioning, working tax credits, ZHC, benefit reforms through abstaining for grievance votes, or introducing them as GOVT, or voting for Tory/LibDem coalition ones.

Many of those Tory Lite New Labour bastards are in places of power still, including the House of Commons, the House of Lords, fronting charities, or worse still on multiple Labours sub bench jobs like running the unions that fund it, while working against its members in equal pay, and directing its manifestos - as well as national fucking policy.

As I mentioned above in the IDB review it was filmed in the NE of England, traditional Labour heartlands of ship, mine and steel – now long gone.

We Scots feel what Tyneside feels, what the working class English north of Watford feels, we desire the same thing, but no longer from the same parliament, or the same method of party supply.

The English North is let down not by Scots now rejecting Labour, but by England rejecting working class Labour, for Tory Lite NuLabour.

While Scotland has the democratic deficit of England's numbers of seats against it, England has a similar democratic deficit of its own to fight against, the North South divide, plus well England likes its left like it was in 1997, cuddly fucking war criminal tories.

Its strange then how the Branch office shed followers in Scotland ask to “lend Labour a vote to get rid of the Tories” in England's parliament , because frankly a term is not rid of, independence for the Scots is fucking rid of – we have rejected them wholesale since 19 fucking 55 , only to have them thrust on us.

Our Scottish left has left the psuedo left en masse, the hardest Labour men and women I have ever known woke up politically during 2014, no longer blindly casting a vote for Labour, after at least 3 generations of living memory doing so. They are now directors not of Labour’s promised and undelivered dreams, of ambiguity manifestos, of where the many and not the few means Scotland ARE the few, but have moved to deliverable Scottish Socialism, not in generations, not next term – but soon, permanently, and importantly with localised accountability for failure to supply not supplied by another country.

We have woken from the Bain Principle, of Labour preventing, voting against, even its own manifesto in England, or Wales, if its by the SNP supplying THAT socialism IN SCOTLAND. Thats not what many of us voted for, nor expected of Labour, “the only good socialism is our socialism”, well it might work in England in the two party system, but in Scotland Labour are already the 3rd party, back where it once began – except not behind the Liberals, yet.

Scotland may once again in the future have a Labour party worth voting for, but that wont be for 3 generations unless it reverts back to the Tea Towel manifesto before Scottish independence happens and backing it – supplying it.

Lastly, one of the main reasons why you wont see a Corbyn Labour Govt is brexit means brexit despite it being a fraud, the other is its revelation that it would happily work with the DUP from Northern Ireland, where out of respect for Irish independence it doesn't stand a single candidate (fuck you Scots), than to work with the SNP to form a Westminster coalition govt – well wouldn't want the Jocks to have keys to the fucking Scottish Secretary cabinet files now would we?

In summary, Labour, if you want into no10, to never more have another Daniel Blake in England, it takes letting Scotland go and assisting it, then again you prevented to this day the powers over benefits being devolved to Scotland, for us to have done it fucking sooner in our own fucking country. Danny Fucking McBlake need not apply.

I see your Daniel Blake Labour, and it is as much Labour’s fault as it is the bastard Tories – more so in Scotland, and for holy fucks sake in Wales, where Labour could have granted the same powers over the last 20 fucking years running it, had they devolved it last time in Govt – never mind after the Scottish Indy ref with its fucking vow.

Fuck me didnt realise last update i did was August 18, hope I can get more done this year than last.

Happy New Year.

Thanks for reading.
